Wales, the prince of Albion, comes back from the dead (apparently) and visits Henrietta, the Queen or Princess or w/e she is, and tells her to come with him. I mean, you and I, we can see that he’s not the real Prince within about two nanoseconds but of course it takes Henrietta a very, very looooong time to realize this. And she doesn’t so much realize it as is forced to realize it because he dies again. Yes, thankfully they don’t drag it out much. Zero, Saito, Kirke and Tabitha all head over to the lake and engage in a battle, where Henrietta refuses to believe he’s not the real prince even though he fucking regenerates himself after being filled with holes. So she starts casting at them too, but Saito is awesome and holds off their ice hurricane until Zero can use her Book of Prayers, chock full of Void spells written in invis-o-ink. She uses a dispel spell, which I thought would just vaporize the spell but actually blasts the fuck out of the spell reanimating the prince. What spell is it? I don’t know but it’s the ring that was stolen from the water spirit of the lake, the one the bad guys have. So it was them I suppose. It’s too bad they didn’t get a chance to kick the shit out of Henrietta because she needed a good kicking.
BOTTOM LINE: Yeah it’s not a bad show and the animation is still pretty top-notch, I wonder how long that’ll last really

Anime only episode I think. It’s all about Nagi getting rejected from a manga-publishing contest and freaking out because she doesn’t have enough “life experience”. So she decides to get some. Of course it’s all fucked up and pretty hilarious, honestly when I saw the coming attractions for this episode I said “aw fuck this is going to suck royally” but it’s actually quite good. A lot of lol’s (like when Hayate says he spent a lot of time when he was 13 winning prizes for manga publishing contests).
BOTTOM LINE: Surprisingly good. A shitload of references I really don’t get. I don’t know whether this show is targeting the older anime-fan demographic or I’m just not watching the shows it’s referencing. :iiam:

Claymore is so dependable I’d marry it if I could. You always know what you’re going to get: an awesome anime with lots of fightin’. And so we do! This is the end of the Riful storyline, and lots of awesome shit happens to make it just great pretty much.
Clare finds Jeane, almost fully gone into butterfly mode (that means awakened dummy). But instead of killing her, she attempts to synch up her Yoki with Jeane, the way Galatea did with her just last episode. And it works! Jeane is back to normal and ready to kick some ass. So they all gather together and bring Duff down hardcore. It’s mostly Clare and Jeane but Galatea does a bit too, sure! Right before they finish him off though, Riful jumps in and puts a stop to all that nonsense. Which is expected, because she’s been a pretty good sport so far but she’s not about to let her boyfriend be killed. So she stops them, but tells Clare what she wants to know: to the North there’s a land called Alphonse, and the Dweller of the Deep up there is some guy I don’t remember his name, Easley or something, and he has Priscilla.
Then there’s a tense bit where Galatea attempts to bring Clare back to the organization again, but Jeane steps in and says since Clare saved her she’ll spend the rest of her life serving her, and Galatea says she’ll say they were both killed. Ends pretty amicably I have to say. And that’s the episode!
BOTTOM LINE: Pretty fucking awesome. Great end to a great storyline. These Dwellers of the Deep are pretty good characters I hope more of them get screentime.

BIG CHANGES! Big big changes everywhere. I’ll go into as many of these as I can, they’re not spoilers they’re just cool bits.
Simon is now the head of their huge Kamina City, which is where Teppen or whatever it was called used to be. Everyone’s happy and having a good time, although Simon doesn’t like being in charge of such a huge city. Rossiu is his #2 and has a stick shoved so far up his ass it’s amazing he’s not coughing up bark. He seems to have some kind of evil second-in-command thing going on, and has a whole host of people who are loyal to him. I hope he doesn’t try to stage a coup or some shit because that’d be lame. The other main members of the Gurren Brigade are all high-ranking officials, even if (as you may remember) they’re not exactly the management type. One of them married the blond guy’s blond sister; I think another sister is over in the science department (although that may be someone else but by his comments I certainly THINK it’s her).
Simon just asked Nia to marry him, and although she said no (took what he said a little too literally) after talking to some of that guy’s sisters she realizes her mistake and accepts. It shows the two kids from Rossiu’s village are now part of some kind of anti-terrorist squad, like a small army in giant robots that the humans have developed from the Gurren-Lagann robot. Yoko left a long time ago, saying that she wasn’t cut out for the governing lifestyle. Viral is still around and causing trouble, only this time he seems to be morally right (he’s defending some humans that want to stay underground from Rossiu’s harassment).
Then the human counter hits 1 million and shit starts to go south. Simon goes to protect the city but it ends up destroyed anyway. Everyone’s not happy now, not happy at all! What are you going to do Simon?!?
Oh, and this is seven years after episode 15. I didn’t mention that my bad
BOTTOM LINE: Pretty awesome start for the second story arc. I can almost feel it though, I can almost feel the dive bomb it’s about to take. Like a rat on a ship, I have this ability and it’s saying it has to start getting shittier soon. Maybe episode 20? That’s when Eva started sucking dick so it’s certainly possible. Let’s hope!

16 was a recap episode so I didn’t watch it! Despite reports that it wasn’t really done that badly, I already know all of what happened in the show because I HAVE THIS BLOG SEE so there’s no need! The only new part was a preview for the next episode, and since I had already downloaded that episode at the time I didn’t see any real need to check it out so QQ
BOTTOM LINE: DIDN’T WATCH IT SOOOOOOOO

End of the Katherine arc. That was fast! However she’s still in Japan and will be showing up from now on; as far as permanent cast additions she’s not too bad. At least she provides a romantic foil for Ayano. This episode starts with Katherine demolishing spirits in front of an astonished public, which of course she’s not supposed to do. The cop lady asks Kazuma to talk to her and get her to stop, and this eventually leads into him being hired by her as a coach. She trains for a week to fight Ayano, and she says if she wins she’s going to take Kazuma back to America with her and hire him as HER bodyguard. Aw snap!
Big fight is staged, it goes back and forth but Ayano eventually wins. However Katherine hasn’t given up on Kazuma and will stay in Japan being a general nuisance and pissing people off. Hooray!
BOTTOM LINE: Out of a pretty damn good episode we get a new party member. That’s win/win, that is.

Rival from the west is here! Guess her name? No really, come on guess her name, it’s American remember, and in an anime. Which means either something Western (American Western) or Irish. I’m not sure why they associate America with Irish names but they do. Name: Katherine Macdonald. Heh. They form their fire spirits into minions that fight for them. I don’t know if they can control the fire spirits like the Kannagi clan does and blow shit up and control flame but w/e.
So Ayano and Kazuma go out to a nice dinner at a nice restaurant and Katherine happens to be there too. Well Gooooood help us. They have a huge fight, Kazuma kind of sits by and smiles, and eventually he gives Ayano some help which lets her win the day (sort of). Katherine flies away vowing revenge, much like Dr. Claw in Inspector Gadget.
BOTTOM LINE: This looks like a thoroughly amusing story line. I hope the show can keep it up!

First half: three schools have a meet for a local competition or…something. The guys all get last place because they suck, but the girls are better (that bitchy chick and two others make it to first or something) but they’re still in third place. Then the green haired girl shows up and is kicking the shit out of everyone until she’s disqualified for not raising her head above water within 15 meters of the start point (some obscure rule I guess).
Second half: green haired mermaid lady bothers our main man to hang out on their day off. Some shit happens and he inadvertently ends up in water over knee-height which is a MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH for his hydrophobia or something.
BONUS THIRD HALF: after the credits, there’s a story about the captain’s family’s restaurant going under. Some antics go on, the girls help out in bathing suits, the money they get go to their head and he arrives in school decked out in mad BLING, etc etc pretty normal route stuff
BOTTOM LINE: Probably the best episode so far, if only for the day off part of the episode. Story progression is story progression alright!
By Proon the Cyclops at 3:47 am

The quiet, “pure” rich girl on the team turns out to be a closet pervert. That’s the theme of the episode, but the actual content is something about the captain (actually some guy, not the girl like I previously thought) declares that everyone has to shave all the hair off their bodies and then pulls a bushel of razors from his speedos. Very disturbing. Very, very disturbing. Our main character friend sure has his hands full this time! Also he becomes better with the green-haired main chick (who is obviously the mermaid from his memories, I’m not sure if I mentioned that exceedingly obvious point yet) and she finds a seal in the ocean.
PS. I fucking hate the constantly red cheek character design. It’s awful and I really, really hate it. I know it’s stylistic but goddamn if it’s not retarded
BOTTOM LINE: What you might expect from a fanservice show.

Time to sit back and enjoy a completely bullshit and extraneous episode of Kaze no Stigma. Which is the best kind of Kaze no Stigma! Well not really but after that last pretty meh story arc it’s nice to see the show is still going strong. Ayano’s really a hilarious character to watch when she’s uncomfortable, which she is pretty much throughout this episode. Her father sets up this date as a “job” (100% lie) in an amusement park. Kazuma wants to take Ren with him but Ayano’s dad talks to him and he manages to disengage with them and hang out with his friends, who helped him out by going to the park too. And nothing really happens but it’s nothing in the most entertaining way possible so not bad at all really. Is what I’m saying about it.
BOTTOM LINE: Cool and looking forward to the next story arc UPSTART AMERICAN FIRE MAGE FAMILY WHOA I JUST GOT A FULL FACE OF ORIGINALITY
