» YAH HEADING HOME

By Proon the Cyclops at 5:42 am

That’s right, it’s time for Proon to make a trip back home. Unfortunate, but it’s only for two weeks so you’ll have to be strong. While I’m in OoT (Ocean of Tears, which I’m beginning to realize is aptly named), my updating schedule may be a tad erratic. I know it has been lately but even moreso is what I’m saying. Don’t you worry, I’ll still find time to update a few times a week no matter what; since most of the shows are on hiatus for a week or two it means I may be able to get caught up!

Well I’m taking the first boat in the morning, so I’m going to get some sleep. I swear if this place is infested with bixies or gnolls when I come back I’m going to freak the fuck out.

» Rental Magica Episode 10

By Proon the Cyclops at 4:58 am

The fight against Alchemist Guy finishes up kind of. Honami escapes, just as Adilicia arrives to save her. Then Itsuki and the rest have a huge fight with the guy. Lots of shit happens, it’s pretty cool. In the end, Itsuki retains control over both the journal of Itsuki’s dad and the company itself.

I think he does, anyway. He might. It seems possible. I can’t really tell much from these screencaps I took so…sorry about that. But all that really matters is this arc and the fighting is over and done with.

BOTTOM LINE: It had a lot of action and was overall pretty well done. Honami escaping and Lapis staying with the dude it was predictable but fine.

» Haruhi 2 Directors Changed :gonk:

By Proon the Cyclops at 12:41 am

From this awesome dude to this stupid dickhead

I know the first guy did AIR but everything else has been pretty excellent so I can have confidence in him (I’ll never forgive though). The second guy did Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and TSR. Great series, but then he followed them most recently with Lucky Star. Not good broham, not good.

Diagnosis?

Awesome

» Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun Episode 10

By Proon the Cyclops at 5:42 am

It’s about 90% typical GSNK wackiness and jokes - and possible incest??? coupled with ten year old grudges and shit - along with a healthy dose of some storyline development. I mean we knew that they were all friends as children already, we knew that. But THEY realize it, and that’s always what you wait for in anime. Maybe they didn’t, fuck I don’t remember honestly. But they were all shown hanging out together, and I’m pretty sure Shungo did at least.

Then of course right before the end of the episode things take a turn for the fucking crazy. I’m not going to go into too much detail about it because I know a certain Ambassador is also watching the show, but it goes from weird and wacky to pretty fucking serious real fast. Total dynamic change, like whoa

BOTTOM LINE: Probably the most interesting episode of the show ever; as far as pure quality goes I’m not sure

» Clannad Episode 10

By Proon the Cyclops at 3:24 am

The new girl they’re going to focus on is Kotomi, the genius girl who’s always in the library. Okazaki tries to make her new friends by introducing them to his krew and teaching her some basic social skills (like how to introduce herself). She’s not too good at it though and is constantly afraid of being bullied.

We also learn that she likes the violin but is absolutely horrible at it and creates a “comically” unbearable sound when she plays. Oh, and we get the fucking robot/girl shit again. Wonderful.

BOTTOM LINE: Episode wasn’t actually that funny, aside from Sunohara and his vow to “get his rezombie” on the bear (with the martial arts girl inside). Not to say it was bad, just not funny. NOT THAT FUNNY!

» Minami-ke Episode 9

By Proon the Cyclops at 3:04 am

A more fragmented kind of episode, the parts don’t really relate to each other. Haruka gets a day off from school since she has to take care of the family at home, but realizes that without school days are pretty damn boring. Then there’s some thing about breakfast - I’m kinda drawing a blank here - and Kana gets sick. Chiaki helps her out a lil and then she gets sick in turn. Then they try on each other’s uniforms in a thinly disguised fat contest. Kana loses :(

BOTTOM LINE: It was alright I guess not the best

» The third in a series…

By Proon the Cyclops at 4:25 am

I told you these are really rolling in, didn’t I?! Today’s entry, sent by one Danny Tanner in Permafrost, Antonica, takes some extreme artistic license with the subject matter. Not that part where I’m crushing a fist full of bixies, that happens frequently. Or the way I’m holding a skull above me; I often savor memories of victory. But the fantasies about anime women are QUITE 100% FALSE I SWEAR! I’ve never thought about any of the many hot hot fictional women in anime that way I’m totally serious. Totally…totally serious.

I’m really quite serious about this.

» Team Fortress Twooooooooooaaaaagggghhhh

By Proon the Cyclops at 3:41 am

I love Team Fortress 2, I really do. It’s a great game. It’s incredibly well balanced (aside from the various map bugs and Pyros aren’t really in the same sweet spot soldiers demomen and scouts are), the maps are interesting, all that shit.

But the players, oh god the players! Look, I’m no gaming genius, but even I can tell in TF2 when my teammates are a pack of fucking retards. If we’re defending points A and B, and I’m the only person at A yet I see B being taken - what is going on? I talk to my friend Hasten and amazingly, they let an engineer build his buildings there! THEY LET AN ENGINEER BUILD HIS TELEPORTER, DISPENSER AND SENTRY GUN AT OUR POINT WHILE IT WAS STILL OURS! Wow! How do you manage to let that happen? I don’t think I could do that even if I were trying to lose, it’s amazing.

Team based games? Awesome. Team based objective games where you have to play with pubbies?

uggghhhhhhh

» Genshiken Season 2 Episode 9

By Proon the Cyclops at 8:59 pm

The (new) seniors - Sasahara, Saki, Kosaka, etc. - try to get jobs. It’s tough but they’re trying! I always find job hunting in Japan hilarious, with the group interviews and the way college degrees don’t seem to factor into the decisions whatsoever. A festival of funny! It seems a little early to be looking for jobs so studiously but maybe things have changed from the way they used to be back when I was a young cyclops.

BOTTOM LINE: Yeah it was alright.
